Do You Have a Criminal Record?
If you have been arrested in the State of Maryland
but not convicted of a crime or received probation before judgment,
you may be eligible for an expungement of your criminal record.
But why should you pursue
an expungement? Even though you may not have a conviction record
on the books, your life can be negatively affected by an arrest
record of any kind.
Looking for a job, applying for college, anticipating a background or security check for your current job? These are all reasons you should consider expunging your criminal record. Click on the Expungement Information button for more details on our services.

What is Expungement?
Expunging your court record means to remove every reference
to your arrest in the records of the court and police authorities. If your
particular circumstances meet a defined set of rules regarding Expungements,
the state must clear your record from all court
and police records. But you must take the first
step to clear your name in the courts. The court system will only act upon
your request. Visit our Expungement Information page
to get started on this process.

State and Federal Pardons
Pardons in Federal and Maryland State Courts Are
a more complicated and involved issue than expungements. That is
not to say that pardons are not granted in those courts. In fact,
over 50% of pardons requested in Federal courts are granted, and
many Maryland State pardons are granted. Please understand, however, that past results can not predict the outcome of your request.
Our offices will pursue a pardon on your behalf in Federal or Maryland
State courts. Our strategy for seeking pardons involves extensive
background research to determine the best method and most relevant
information for obtaining the pardon, before any court filings
are made.
Visit our Pardons in Maryland or Federal Pardons page for more information.
